MANAGEMENT TEAM
Woofenden Construction was set up in 1998 by both Neil & Sally Woofenden. It all started when they bought a run-down former chapel in Broadhembury, Devon and set about transforming it into a modern, efficient home which they subsequently sold.
Others saw their achievements and the standards applied and Neil & Sally were then asked by relatives, friends and ‘friends of friends’ to carry out further projects ranging from smaller maintenance works to larger extensions, renovations and new builds. The high standard of work, attention to detail and reliability ensured their clients were always happy to recommend Woofenden to others and so the business grew.
Neil & Sally work very much as a team (as do the rest of their staff) with Neil being the building expert and Sally overseeing the finances and administration.

Neil Woofenden
Managing Director
Neil has a flare for being able to visualise the finished project and how to get the best from a space. He re-uses existing materials where possible, but always sympathetically to the specific property. Neil also likes using older, (sometimes reclaimed) materials in order to add character to newer buildings and likewise using some newer finishes (sensitively) to older properties to lift and personalise projects.

Sally Woofenden
Financial Director/Company Secretary
Sally oversees the company finances and ensures the management figures are correct and accurate. She monitors cash flow and organises the company financial administration systems. Sally is committed to ensuring that Woofenden Construction continues to develop and grow, whilst maintaining the standards and culture of the business that both herself and Neil have built.

David Coombes
Operations Manager
David started his construction career with Woofenden Construction in 2002 when he joined shortly after finishing his A Levels at Exeter College. In the early days, David worked as part of a very close knit team which at that time, primarily concentrated on local renovation and conservation work.
In 2006, David left to further his career in site management and joined the National House Builder, Redrow Homes as an Assistant Site Manager. Whilst there, David was selected to take part in a National Assistant Site Management course, which he successfully passed in 2007. In 2009, David joined Charles Church as a fully qualified Site Manager where he worked before re-joining Woofenden Construction in 2013.
During his time at Charles Church, David ran a site in Sidmouth which was awarded the National NHBC Pride in the Job Award. At the 2013 NHBC Award Ceremony, this site was then awarded the ‘Seal of Excellence’, meaning it was in the top 100 building sites in the country.
Woofenden Construction were delighted that David re-joined them in 2013 as Operations Manager and he is now assisting to progress the business and streamline operations.
