Mid Devon, Blackdown Hills

The Project at Little Brook was certainly one of our most exciting & challenging projects that we had undertaken to date.  The site itself sat in on the hill of an area of outstanding natural beauty & was accessed by a small country lane. Our client had successfully gained planning permission to demolish the existing three-bedroom property & build a new four-bedroom property in another location on the same site.

The outline of our works consisted of the demolition of an existing three-bedroom house & the remodelling of the existing site to allow for the construction of a new one off bespoke 4-bedroom property including ancillary outbuildings.

Due to the complexity & site restraints the project at Little Brook had to be broken down into three phases.  Phase one consisted of the safe demolition of an existing three-bedroom dwelling that was situated close to an existing water course.  Once the building had been safely demolished works started on the ground remediation works including the removal of Japanese knotweed.   Phase two consisted of significant ground works in order to overcome the existing topography of the site & the construction of a bespoke oak framed property & Phase 3 consisted of the landscaping & riverbank improvement works.

The end product at Little Brook was stunning & we felt privileged to be part of the journey that saw a dilapidated property on the side of a hill turned into a totally unique, energy efficient home that not only blended into its natural surroundings but also incorporated significant methods of modern construction.
