Ethan Started his career in construction as an apprentice Carpenter at Woofenden, joining the team in September 2006. After completing a 3-year programme at Exeter College, Ethan continued to work as part of the Carpentry team at Woofenden where he carried out a range of interesting restoration and conversion work for the Business.

As the business grew, Ethan naturally took up a supervisory role in 2012 where he helped to organise individual Projects by coordinating Contractors, Suppliers and other resources.

After a short time working as a Site Supervisor, Ethan developed to a Project Management role which saw him undertake multiple restoration Projects, notably reinstating homes to their former condition following severe flooding on the Somerset Levels.

In recent years Ethan has been tasked with managing the businesses larger and more bespoke Refurbishment, Conversion and New Build Projects which have included working with Domestic clients, Private Investors and Organisations such as the National Trust.

Following a return to College in 2015 where he gained a Level-4 HNC, Ethan is now working towards becoming a Chartered Construction Manager with the CIOB.

Julia Crabb

Julia Crabb
HR Administrator / Payroll

Julia joined Woofenden in 2011 initially to help out in the office.  Julia was then asked to take on the role of the Company’s HR & Payroll Administrator.  Julia has worked for many years within both the Property and Construction Industry and also has a good knowledge of the local area.

Tim Branfield
Project Manager

Tim graduated from Birmingham City University in 1999 where he obtained a degree in Building Surveying. Following his graduation, he was employed by a range of different companies as a building surveyor and managing large capital projects, including listed buildings, schools and various investment properties. Latterly, he has worked as company director of a construction firm. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building and a Fellow at the Chartered Association of Building Engineers.

Alec Bain
Quantity Surveyor

Alec has worked in the industry since 2015 on a range of projects up to £2 million, including a ‘Passivhaus’ scheme for Exeter City Council. He joined Woofenden in April of 2021 as a QS to oversee and assist with the project/cost management on some of the larger contracts and also gets involved in the tendering of works. 

He previously studied a HNC level 4 in Construction and the Built Environment and is currently studying part time at UWE toward a degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management.
