What area do you cover?

Our office is based near Cullompton, just off J28 of the M5 in Mid-Devon, but we cover all of Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Avon.

How much do I pay for a quote?

We prepare quotes for many jobs free of charge, with no obligation. For more complex enquiries – e.g. involving specialist restoration skills – or for larger jobs, we do make a charge for our time, which is later taken off your bill if you choose us. We can also provide priced/unpriced bills of quantity. This can be removed from the tender if Woofenden is successful.

How long is a quote valid for?

A signed mandate needs to be returned within:
14 days for small works
30 days for large works

What information do I need to provide to get a quote?

Your name, address and contact information; a brief description of the job; your timescale and your budget.

What if I don’t already have an architect? Can you help?

Yes, we have a good relationship with several local architects who will be able to help you.

Is there a waiting list for start dates on new work?

This will depend on your requirements. Smaller jobs can often be accommodated at short notice, but please contact us to discuss what you need. All work is booked in and provisional start dates will be provided.

Are you able to help with planning applications or building control? 

Yes. Please contact us for more information.

Can I see examples of similar projects that you’ve worked on previously?

Yes, we have lots of photos that we can show you, including ‘before and after’ shots. We are always happy to talk through how we did the work and would be delighted to provide references from previous customers. Private viewings can sometimes be arranged at the home owner’s discretion. Please also see the case studies under the ‘Our Work’ section on the website.

Are you Gas Safe, Oftec and HETAS registered?

We use our sister company, Arcken, for all electrical, plumbing and heating work. This allows us to keep jobs completely in-house, working as efficiently as possible. Arcken is Gas Safe, Oftec and HETAS registered.

Who will I deal with day-to-day?

For each project, we allocate an experienced project manager, who will oversee the planning and completion of all work. You will be given their contact details so that you can get in touch with any questions or concerns during the project. Please call us if you would like further information about our project managers.

When do I need to pay?

Depending on the scale of the project, we can either do monthly valuations or set up interim payment dates. We confirm payment dates prior to work starting.
